Apple is heading towards developing and producing a foldable MacBook initially, and the latest reports have outlined the tech giant’s plans to begin mass production of this device category in 2025 while delaying the production of the first generation of foldable iPhones until 2026.
“Jeff Pu” revealed in his latest report Apple’s upcoming plans for the company’s foldable device offerings, confirming through this report that Apple will commence mass production of the first distinctive MacBook devices with a foldable design next year.
The report also indicates that the foldable MacBook comes with a 20.3-inch screen size, while Apple will introduce its first foldable iPhone in 2026. It also confirmed that Apple is currently testing two screen sizes for this version, between 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches.
These details align with information published by analyst “Ming-Chi Kuo”, although the latter’s report differs in the expected timeframe for the start of mass production of the first MacBook device, as Kuo indicated in his report that Apple will begin production of this version in 2027.
In other details published in a report by “Ross Young”, it is indicated that Apple is preparing to start mass production of the first foldable device between 2026 and 2027, with the device coming in a 20-inch size.
On the other hand, “Mark Gurman” in a report published in Bloomberg mentioned that Apple is working on developing a hybrid device between MacBook and iPad featuring dual-screen and foldable support, as evidenced by a patent registered by the company in October for a hinge developed to support a foldable clamshell phone.
It is worth mentioning that the new details provided by “Jeff Pu” are based on internal sources at Apple confirming that the tech giant has accelerated the development stages of the foldable device to start mass production ahead of Apple’s timeline schedule.
