Following last month’s major Chromebook update, ChromeOS 126 is set to roll out as a moderate update in the coming weeks.
After adding Google Tasks integration, Quick Settings allows you to “View all events from multiple calendars” instead of limiting you to your primary calendar.
For example, previously, you couldn’t see calendars for birthdays or holidays. Now, setting up your Chromebook using an Android phone is more accessible with “Fast Pair.”
The update automatically transfers Wi-Fi login and Google account information without manually entering your passwords. Additionally, a secure connection has been established between ChromeOS devices and phones.
This was first announced at CES 2022. The ChromeOS Camera app now offers digital zoom, and high-performance Chromebooks will gain high-resolution supported by AI.
You can turn off the flashing text cursor under Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and input text > Cursor blink rate. This is tailored for users experiencing “light-sensitive seizures and cognitive differences.”
Additionally, you can disable back/forward navigation through scroll history by scrolling left/right on the two-finger trackpad. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Pointer and touchpad > Use scroll gesture to navigate pages.
