YouTube has announced new features for its premium subscribers. These new features appear to be available to Android users in the United States initially, with plans to expand to iOS users in the coming weeks.

Among these updates is a new skip-ahead button that, using AI and viewing data, automatically jumps to the most interesting part of the video you’re watching. It is triggered by a double tap on the video.

Additionally, YouTube Shorts now supports Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, allowing users to watch content while multitasking.

YouTube also shared its latest experimental features, accessible through the Experimental Features page. These include Smart Downloads for YouTube Shorts and conversational AI that answers questions via prompts and suggests related content without interrupting your video. The conversational AI can be accessed via the “Ask” button within specific video clips.

The redesigned Watch page is exclusive to web users and promises a new and improved way to discover relevant content and interact with comments.
