vivo has officially unveiled its vivo X100 Ultra smartphone, featuring a 200-megapixel periscope camera and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The X100 Ultra comes with an E7 LTPO AMOLED display measuring 6.78 inches, with a resolution of 1440 by 3200 pixels. The screen supports a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz, with brightness up to 3000 nits. The display houses a distinctive 50-megapixel front camera within a punch-hole design, and the in-display fingerprint sensor is integrated into the screen.

In terms of camera setup, the vivo X100 Ultra boasts a 1-inch LYT-900 main sensor from Sony, paired with a periscope camera featuring a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP9 sensor and a sensor size of 1/1.4. This camera, developed in collaboration between vivo and Samsung, is the largest sensor ever introduced for a periscope camera, with an f/2.67 aperture and an equivalent focal length of 85mm. The camera also features Zeiss T coating and supports “Zeiss APO” standards for enhanced imaging.

The periscope camera also supports up to 3.7x optical zoom with 20% improved low-light sensitivity. Additionally, the “telephoto macro” mode has been enhanced for up to 20x performance. The X100 Ultra leads in this release by implementing the “CIPA 4.5” stabilization technology for the telephoto camera.

This release also introduces the “BlueImage” algorithm, developed over 8 years, aimed at addressing various photography issues, including backlighting and maintaining detail accuracy in low light.

The X100 Ultra’s camera setup includes the vivo V3+ processing chip for recording 4K portrait videos. The main 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.75 aperture and a 23mm focal length features gimbal stabilization of up to 1.5 degrees and optical stabilization support.

The main LYT-900 sensor supports 4K video recording at 120 frames per second, with a custom 4K portrait mode in video, with support for “Dolby Vision” technology.

The third sensor, LYT-600, boasts a 50-megapixel resolution with a 1/2 sensor size and a 14mm focal length, providing ultra-wide viewing angles.

Additionally, the vivo X100 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4 storage.

The phone runs on OriginOS 4 based on Android 14, with a 5500 mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging and 30W wireless charging.

The X100 Ultra supports 5.5G networks and bidirectional satellite communication in the Chinese market. It is available in three options including titanium, white, and gray, starting at $898 for the premium model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
