Korean giant Samsung has started working on developing the Exynos 2500 processor that will support the next generation of the Galaxy S25 series of phones, and the latest leaks suggest that the processor may be based on Google-developed “TPU” material.

Samsung aims to focus more on developing artificial intelligence technology in the coming period. Therefore, the company is keen on enhancing its upcoming Exynos 2500 processor with generative artificial intelligence technology.

Recent details published on platform X have revealed that Samsung’s anticipated Exynos 2500 processor will be based on the graphics card developed by AMD. Additionally, Samsung supports the processor with a “TPU” unit developed by Google.

“TPU” material has been part of the Tensor processing unit that has been supporting Pixel phones for years now. It works as an accelerator for artificial intelligence technology to support Google products. TPU units are also available in larger sizes in Google Cloud to support artificial intelligence developers.

The expected use of “TPU” material in the Exynos 2500 processor for Galaxy S25 phones is set to provide a smooth mechanism to access Google’s machine-learning interface.

On another note, the current “Galaxy AI” technology relies on cloud computing. Despite Samsung’s enhancement of the Exynos 2400 processor with artificial intelligence technology, it falls short of the required level for artificial intelligence applications.

Details posted on Connor’s account on platform X also clarify that Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2500 processor will feature two neural processing units, G-NPU and S-NPU.

Recent reports have indicated that Samsung will support the Galaxy S25 series with the Exynos 2500 processor as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Leaks also suggest that the Exynos 2500 processor will come with Samsung’s second-generation 3-nanometer manufacturing process.

The processor also includes a primary Cortex-X5 core clocked at 3.2GHz, three A730 cores at speeds of 2.3-2.5GHz, two lower-frequency A730 cores, and four A520 cores. The chip also features the Xclipse 950 graphics card.
