At this year’s Barcelona showcase, TCL introduced the TCL 50 series phones, featuring a range of models equipped with the company’s new technology to reduce blue light impact, delivering a performance akin to e-ink displays.

During the MWC 2024 events, TCL revealed the TCL 50 phone series, offering a varied price range from budget-friendly options to higher-cost phones in the mid-range category, all featuring NXTPAPER 3.0 technology.

The company emphasized in its announcement at the event that the new blue light reduction technology would provide users with eye protection, mimicking e-ink displays.

This technology is available in the 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G phone, featuring a 6.6-inch display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the technology is present in the TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G model, boasting a 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Both aforementioned phones feature a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor in the rear. The 50 5G version, also equipped with the same technology, lacks the 50-megapixel primary sensor and starts with 4GB of RAM.

TCL also indicates in its announcement that the 50 SE phone targets entertainment with 12GB of RAM and dual “DTS 3D” speakers.

The company also offers the 50 LE phone with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 90Hz refresh rate screen, and a 4000mAh battery capacity, which is the smallest battery capacity in this series, as other versions come with capacities of up to 5010mAh.

TCL is expected to launch the 50 5G and SE phones in the Middle East markets at $161 in the second quarter of 2024, while the TCL 50 XL 5G will be available in the United States market at $169 in the second quarter of this year. The XE model will launch at $149 in the third quarter, and NXTPAPER will be available in the markets at $229 during the same period.
