Rumors continue to swirl around the potential PlayStation 5 Pro console, with YouTube users and insiders providing more details about the device.

A recent leak from Tom Henderson suggests that confidential information about the PS5 Pro may have been leaked through promotional images from external sources.

While it’s unclear if Sony can pinpoint the culprit, this incident may lead to tighter controls on access to new technologies for developers.

Sony has remained silent regarding the leaks and has not even acknowledged the existence of a PS5 Pro console. However, based on the information gathered so far, here’s a glimpse of what the PS5 Pro might offer.

Leaks indicate improvements in the bandwidth of the PS5 Pro system memory, potentially being up to 28% faster than the standard PS5.

Additionally, higher frequency settings for the new central processing unit (CPU) could boost CPU clock speeds by 10%, albeit at the expense of slightly lower graphics processing unit (GPU) performance.

The audio section might also see enhanced performance in twist frequency and FFT/IFFT processing due to the increased operating frequency of the auxiliary audio processor (ACV).

The true power of the PS5 Pro seems to lie in its graphics capabilities. Leaks suggest a 45% faster display output compared to the PS5, along with better ray tracing performance by 2-3 times, possibly reaching up to 4 times in specific scenarios. This is supported by a processing power of 33.5 teraflops.

According to reports, Sony is also working on developing a custom structure for machine learning using AI accelerators capable of impressive floating-point calculations.

This, along with the new “Spectral Supersolution” (PSSR) technology, aims to deliver smooth gaming experiences at 4K resolution with a frame rate of 120 frames per second and even at 8K resolution with a frame rate of 60 frames per second.

However, it’s important to note that hardware limitations may prevent the PS5 Pro from fully achieving these lofty goals.

We’ll have to wait until Sony breaks its silence and reveals its plans for the next generation of PlayStation. Until then, the PS5 will continue to replace its enhanced version.
