The vivo Y36 competes in the mid-range phone market with an elegant design and specifications that support users with good performance. In the following lines, we’ll review everything vivo offers in this release.

The vivo Y series enjoys great popularity among users looking for a reasonably priced phone with top-notch specifications, and the vivo Y36 is no exception, featuring a design that aligns with the company’s vision.

vivo Y36

vivo includes in the box the vivo Y36 phone unit along with a 44W charger adapter, a USB-C to USB-A charging cable, a transparent plastic case, and a screen protector. Additionally, the phone box contains a SIM tray ejector pin.

The vivo Y36 features a glossy back cover design, with a camera setup in a square design that includes two rings for a dual-camera setup with an LED flash.

The Vivo logo also appears on the left side of the back, and the phone’s cover and frame are made of plastic. The bottom part houses a single speaker with a USB-C port, microphone, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The top part features the SIM slot that supports either two SIM cards or a SIM card and a microSD card. Additionally, the top part houses a microphone. On the right side of the phone frame, there are the volume control button and the main power button, which also features a built-in fingerprint sensor. The vivo Y36 also comes with IP54 standards for water spray resistance.

vivo Y36

The phone features a 6.64-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels. The screen supports a 90Hz refresh rate and has average bezels on three sides, with a larger size at the bottom. Additionally, the screen has a punch hole for the front camera.

The vivo Y36 offers vibrant and saturated colors, with users being able to adjust the colors through the phone settings. Users also have three brightness options: standard, professional brightness, or maximum brightness. Users can also adjust the screen color temperature according to their preferences.

The 90Hz refresh rate provides smooth frame motion, especially when streaming 4K content on YouTube. However, the screen does not support HDR, so users have the option to switch to 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second, which is a good level compared to the phone’s price.

Moreover, the phone comes with Widevine L1 standards to support Full HD content streaming from services like Netflix. The phone can achieve a brightness ratio of 600 nits, although it may face some difficulties in achieving the highest brightness ratio in direct sunlight.

In practical experience, the single speaker did not offer optimal performance in the vivo Y36, as it does not provide a comprehensive audio experience.

The vivo Y36 is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and comes with a 44W charger in the box. The charger supports charging the phone from 5% to 100% in 56 minutes. In practical testing, the battery life was tested with intensive use in various tasks over 7 hours with a 100% battery charge, which decreased to 14%.

vivo Y36

vivo supports the Y36 phone with the Snapdragon 680 chipset, which offers good performance but does not meet the standards of the 2023 chipset releases.

The phone scored 345,081 points on AnTuTu tests. With performance tests in some game titles like “Duterte Fighting Crime 2,” the phone provided fast performance at the highest settings with quick response.

With “Call of Duty: Mobile” and the graphics settings set to the highest level and an average frame rate, the phone also provided good performance.

The phone also offers good performance in multiplayer gaming with consistent performance. Overall, the Snapdragon 680 processor provides good performance in running many games smoothly and quickly.

vivo Y36

vivo supports the vivo Y36 with a camera that excels in performance. The phone features a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Another model of the phone for the Philippines market features a triple-camera setup with an additional 2-megapixel sensor for macro shots.

On the other hand, the phone features a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera provides good contrast and balanced color saturation, with good separation between the subject and the background.

Moreover, Vivo supports the selfie camera in the phone with default beauty modes, and the camera performs well in low-light conditions, highlighting the subject with simple settings and detailed results.

Both the front and rear cameras offer good video recording performance, although outdoor video recording may have some issues adapting to sunlight.

The audio performance is good, but it does not provide good performance in video recording tasks. Additionally, users have the option of a beautification mode in selfie video recording, and the cameras can support video recording at 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second.

The vivo Y36 runs on Android 13 with the Funtouch 13 interface, offering a clear interface with an elegant design. Additionally, the interface is light, allowing users to navigate between interface elements and tools quickly and smoothly.

Users also have the option of default memory expansion to 8GB RAM which features dynamic effects and an Ultra mode tailored for gaming.

The vivo Y36 offers users a distinctive camera with reliable performance, along with fast charging technology, good battery life, and an elegant design at a reasonable price level, making it a good choice among competing releases in the market at the same price level.

The vivo Y36 combines stylish design with fast charging technology and excellent camera performance, making it a good choice at a reasonable price for users.
