Razer’s BlackWidow keyboard series is highly popular. The Razer BlackWidow V4 X keyboard offers a new experience for users, particularly gamers. In the following lines, we’ll highlight this version’s new features.

Razer presents this version of the BlackWidow keyboard series with an enhanced user experience, fine-tuning the keyboard’s performance for a higher-efficiency gaming experience in intense gaming challenges.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 X is a new addition to the V4 and V4 Pro editions. This version distinguishes itself with additional media control tools, including a handle and a wrist rest, along with the customization features that the series is renowned for.

Additionally, the keyboard comes with six dedicated macro keys, multi-function keys, and the new Razer third-generation keys. The BlackWidow V4 X is also the company’s first keyboard to support the Arabic language, making it one of the best keyboards for typing and manipulating audio files.

Design and Features

Razer BlackWidow V4 X

The Razer BlackWidow V4 X keyboard features an oversized design with RGB lighting. It offers full-size keys at 100%, occupying ample space on the desktop. Adding six macro buttons enhances the customization experience to support users when needed.

The keycaps on top of the keys are made of 5052 aluminum alloy, allowing users to benefit from diverse RGB lighting experiences, including colors. Additionally, the BlackWidow V4 X keyboard supports muting audio.

While this keyboard version doesn’t come with optimal design elements, Razer aims to balance between design and functionality, primarily targeting users in gaming.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 X keyboard lacks media control elements, unlike the V4 Pro version. Therefore, these functions have been moved to other keys, supporting functions like mute, play/pause, volume control, and more.

Additionally, the keyboard features a touch-sensitive cylinder for configuration and customization through the Razer Synapse software. Tasks such as controlling media playback, adjusting screen brightness, or skipping tracks can be assigned to the cylinder, among other features.

The six macro keys offer the same customization tasks mentioned earlier, as well as setting up program execution settings, assigning Windows system shortcuts, supporting backlight mode adjustments, and setting macro unit modes.

Practical experience confirms the keyboard’s efficiency in smoothly executing various tasks and running applications with quick performance, such as Premiere Pro, with application shortcuts.

On the other hand, users accustomed to using traditional keyboards will need time to smoothly transition to the Razer BlackWidow V4 X keyboard, as the new design change requires some time to support gamers. The company offers a spacious typing area with the third generation of Clicky keys.

This version’s keycaps feature distinctive Arabic characters, a feature introduced for the first time in this series. This allows users to access numeric, alphabetical characters commonly used in daily life.

Moreover, the priority for backlighting adjustment is set to English, which may be problematic for gamers using the keyboard in the dark.

Razer uses Doubleshot ABS keycaps, a category of plastic covers the company has used. This type of plastic cover requires continuous lubrication.

Overall, the Razer BlackWidow V4 X keyboard boasts a sturdy design, thick key edges, and a smooth surface with patterns that support users, even with sweaty hands.

Additionally, the keyboard features a connected USB cable that is not removable. The cable features a durable braided design. However, damaging the cable will lead to complete keyboard damage, making it better to support the keyboard with a detachable cable.

Essential Sound and Stability Testing

The Razer BlackWidow V4 X keyboard features the third generation of Clicky keys, distinguished by their green color. It also features Razer Yellow keys with a linear key supporting muting audio. Both keys have a transparent design with a bottom cover for better light distribution.

On the other hand, the keyboard doesn’t support fast key switching. Therefore, users will need help to replace the keys with third-party versions. The Green Clicky keys offer a loud performance to support the expected experience from gaming keyboard users. However, they offer excellent and smooth performance. Razer confirms the capacity and performance of the BlackWidow V4 X keyboard, which also features consistent design and performance.
