Tech giant Apple has begun working on developing a new generation of iPhone SE smartphones, and the latest leaked images have unveiled a metallic model that showcases the anticipated design of the iPhone SE 4.

Apple has been offering the iPhone SE series with designs inspired largely by previous iPhone versions. The first edition of the series featured a design reminiscent of the iPhone 5s, while the second generation came with an iPhone 6 design in 2020. Apple then introduced the iPhone SE 3 in 2022 with a design resembling the iPhone 8.

Apple is now gearing up to launch the fourth generation of the series into the markets, which has been spotted in leaked 3D images resembling the iPhone 14 design. Today, the metal models confirm the design of this version.

It is also expected that the iPhone SE 4 will feature an OLED screen for the first time in this series. Previous leaks have revealed that BOE will be the official supplier of OLED screens for this version.

Additionally, the phone is expected to feature a wider notch for the front camera within the screen, which for the first time will support FaceID facial recognition technology.

Reports also confirm Apple’s plans to support the upcoming iPhone SE 4 with a distinctive battery of the same capacity as the one supporting the iPhone 14.

The metal model of the iPhone SE 4 appeared in live images in a case that obscures some design details. However, the details confirm that this version will come with a new design, replacing the TouchID technology introduced in the 2022 edition of this series for the last time.

It is worth mentioning that leaks so far suggest that Apple may delay the launch of this version until 2025, so we look forward to more details about this release in the coming period.
