The launch of the Vivo X100 Ultra phone is scheduled for today, May 13th. Just yesterday, one day before the official unveiling, a set of concert photos taken by the smartphone surfaced.

As the photos show, the upcoming phone might be better than Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a wide main camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels at the back, paired with a periscope zoom camera of 50 megapixels, a 10-megapixel zoom camera, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

This powerful camera setup allowed the phone to achieve a total camera score of 144 points from DxOMark.

The Vivo X100 Pro, launched late last year, outperformed Samsung’s current offerings by achieving a total score of 150 points.

But it seems Vivo will take things to the next level with the X100 Ultra. When released, we might see DxOMark praising its Zoom capabilities.

The concert photos captured by Vivo X100 Ultra showcase high details in zoomed shots.

The zoom capabilities, a highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, make it a great choice for capturing music concert shots.

In many tests, the phone has performed strongly in delivering clear zoomed shots. However, the new batch of camera samples from Vivo X100 Ultra displays better results.

The Vivo X100 Ultra comes with a powerful triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 200-megapixel periscope sensor. All these cameras are backed by a Vivo V2 image processing chip and ZEISS T* coating.

The 200-megapixel sensor is the key feature, boasting the largest periscope lens in the industry, coming in at 1/1.4 inches.

This, along with other camera aspects, makes the phone stand out as a great option for zoomed shots. This is precisely what the new set of photos proves.

The photos, shown above and below, were taken at “The Singer” event held recently in China.

The photos were captured during rehearsals, and the periscope sensor in the Vivo X100 Ultra did a great job capturing zoomed shots. Naturally, the optical zoom is less than what Samsung offers with its S24 Ultra.

As a reference, Samsung’s optical zoom is 5x, while the upcoming Vivo phone can offer approximately 3.7x optical zoom.

Thanks to the 10x digital zoom, the zoomed shots taken during the event enjoy a good level of depth.

It’s also worth noting that the phone handles light exceptionally well, likely due to the ZEISS T* lens coating.

While the company hasn’t said anything about the price yet, it’s said that the phone will cost 6699 Chinese yuan in China (about $944). For comparison, the starting price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra is $1299.99 in the United States.
