Philips Unveils 49-inch QD-OLED Gaming Monitor

Philips has revealed its latest gaming monitor, the Evnia 49M2C8900, featuring QD-OLED technology and a 49-inch display size, with a refresh rate of 240Hz.

The Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 gaming monitor boasts a 49-inch dual QHD display with a resolution of 5120 by 1440 pixels, offering a 32:9 aspect ratio and a curvature of 1800R for an immersive viewing experience.

With a refresh rate of 240Hz and a fast 0.3ms GtG response time, the monitor delivers smooth gaming visuals.

The Evnia monitor supports 10-bit color depth and can produce over a billion colors at the highest resolution. It combines OLED technology with quantum dots to achieve superior screen contrast, deep blacks, and vibrant colors.

Moreover, the monitor is certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 standards for improved black levels, with a brightness of 250 nits in SDR and 1000 nits in HDR.

The Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology for reduced screen tearing and smoother gameplay performance.

Additionally, it features four 7.5W speakers with DTS technology for immersive multi-directional sound during gaming sessions and conferences.

The monitor comes with a customized gaming mode called “SmartImage,” which optimizes screen settings for gaming, enhancing contrast, image clarity, and color accuracy.

The “Ambiglow halo” backlighting in the monitor provides a unique gaming atmosphere by adjusting the backlight colors and brightness to match the game.

The Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 is equipped with a stand that supports height adjustment, swivel, and tilt for customizable viewing angles.

For connectivity, the Evnia monitor includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB-C port supporting 90W device charging.

Additionally, it features a USB 3.2 Gen 1 connector with a data transfer rate of 5Gbps and comes with a KVM switch for controlling two computers with one set of peripherals. The monitor is expected to launch for approximately $1500.
