Oppo Reno12 and Reno12 Pro Officially Launched with Slim and Lightweight Design

Oppo has announced the launch of the Oppo Reno12 and Reno12 Pro, featuring a sleek and lightweight design, curved edges on all four sides, and a triple rear camera setup.

The Oppo Reno12 series has a 6.7-inch OLED display, similar to the previous generation. It offers a 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the Reno12 series stands out with its curved edges on all four display sides.

Gorilla Glass protects both phones on the front and features an aluminum alloy middle frame. They also boast water resistance with an IP65 rating and efficient touchscreen functionality even with wet fingers.

The Oppo Reno12 is 7.25 mm thick and weighs 179 grams, while the Reno12 Pro is slightly thicker at 7.55mm and weighs 183 grams. Both phones have a 5000 mAh battery and support 80W fast charging. Oppo claims the battery maintains 95% of its health even after 1000 charging cycles.

Regarding camera capabilities, the Oppo Reno12 Pro features a 50MP IMX890 primary sensor with 1.0µm pixel size and 1/1.56 sensor size, a 50MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The Reno12, on the other hand, includes a 50MP LYT600 primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Both models have a 50MP front-facing selfie camera.

The Oppo Reno12 is powered by the Dimensity 8250 processor, with options for 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage capacities of 256GB or 512 GB. The Reno12 Pro has the Dimensity 9200 Plus processor, 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Oppo’s new releases also feature AI capabilities, including image processing, object or person removal from photos, and background replacement. The AI features extend to dictation, summarization, document scanning, and mathematical formula processing. The Xiaobu digital assistant can also be an English tutor or teacher for primary school children.

The Reno12 is available in silver, light orange, and black, while the Reno12 Pro comes in silver, purple, gold, and black. Both phones have an in-display fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, NFC, and stereo speakers. The base model of the Reno12 starts at $375, and the Reno12 Pro starts at $470.
