Back in 2017, WhatsApp introduced the Status feature, allowing users to post texts, emojis, photos, and more visible to their contacts for 24 hours.

However, not all contacts need to see these updates, as the Status Privacy setting allows users to choose between showing status updates to all contacts, specific contacts, or all except certain contacts.

Last month, the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.75 added a small pop-up window that allows users to easily change the status update privacy settings before posting a new update.

This brings us to today’s WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.27, which rolls out the same feature.

If nothing else, this serves as a reminder of the current privacy settings for status updates so users won’t remember to change them if needed. If changes are necessary, users won’t have to navigate through settings to make them. This will make users more aware of who will see their updates.
