Meta Tests Cross-Posting from Instagram to Threads

Meta is testing a new way to enhance interaction on Threads through the Instagram platform. The company is currently testing the ability to post photos from Instagram to Threads.

Meta confirmed the experiment after a few Threads users noticed the setting appearing on the Instagram app.

According to the company, cross-posting from Instagram to Threads is optional, although users can choose to automatically share all new photo posts to their Threads account as well.

Meta has been testing several features to boost the growth of Threads, which currently has 150 million users. The company has also experimented with cross-posting from Facebook to Threads and promoting Threads posts directly in Facebook and Instagram Stories, regardless of whether users are using the app or not.

This encourages content creators to be more active on the app. Meta offers rewards to creators for high-performance posts on Threads.
