Xiaomi has begun working on developing a new generation of the Redmi K series smartphones, and the latest leaks have unveiled the Chinese giant’s plans to support the Redmi K80 series with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.

Xiaomi introduced the K70 series in November of last year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution, brightness up to 4000 nits, and a starting price of $352.

Today, leaks confirm that Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new generation of this series. The leaks published via “Smart Pikachu” indicate that Xiaomi aims to support the upcoming Redmi K80 series with top configurations.

Expectations suggest that the upcoming series will include the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro smartphones, with the lower-cost version being the Redmi K80E.

The leak source has confirmed that Xiaomi has made rapid progress in the development of the Redmi K80 series, which comes with a 5500 mAh battery capacity.

The screens in these versions come with 2K display quality similar to the company’s previous releases in the Redmi K70 series, and it is expected that the screen will support a higher central brightness level.

Additionally, the leak source indicated that Xiaomi will offer Redmi K80 phones with different processors, with the Redmi K80 Pro featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, while the main version of the series will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

It’s worth mentioning that Qualcomm is preparing to officially announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor at an event scheduled for November, and it’s expected that Xiaomi will hold an event during the same month to announce the Redmi K80 series.
