Chinese giant Huawei has announced the Pura 70 Ultra phone, featuring a 1-inch main sensor in the rear camera and a rectangular mechanical design.
The Pura 70 Ultra phone comes with an LTPO OLED screen measuring 6.8 inches, offering FHD+ display quality. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and boasts a brightness of 2500 nits. At the center of the screen is a punch-hole cutout for the 13-megapixel front camera. Additionally, the screen features an embedded fingerprint sensor and is protected by the latest Kunlun glass.
The Pura 70 Ultra is powered by the new Kirin 9010 chipset, based on a 7-nanometer manufacturing process, with 8 cores. The phone is available with 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 512GB to 1TB.
Huawei introduces a mechanical design for this version, with a rectangular module housing a 50-megapixel main sensor. The mechanical design allows the camera to be revealed during photography. The rotating telephoto lens features a complex mechanical structure tested by Huawei for 300,000 cycles.
The main camera supports variable lenses ranging from f/1.6 to 4.0, with a focal length of 22.5mm, featuring an XD engine for fast-moving object capture. The second telephoto camera is 50 megapixels with a focal length of 90mm, an aperture of F/2.1, and optical stabilization, supporting up to 3.5x optical zoom.
The camera also supports macro shots from a distance of 5cm, as well as a “super macro” mode up to 35 times. The camera setup includes a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a focal length of 13mm.
Huawei employs AI technology to enhance image quality and offers options for object removal or photo editing.
The Pura 70 Ultra supports dual satellite connectivity with Beidou and Tiantong satellites for voice calls, text messaging, and photo sharing. The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance and is equipped with a 5200mAh battery. It supports 100W fast charging, 80W wireless charging, and 20W reverse charging. The phone runs on HarmonyOS 4.2.
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is available in 4 color options, with the main model featuring 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage priced at $1380.
