HMD, the company behind the Nokia brand, has released a series of announcements today unveiling plans for several new devices this summer.

Among these devices is a foldable phone bearing the Barbie brand, an old Nokia phone, and a smart device branded by HMD, along with the introduction of a new development platform called “HMD Fusion.”

HMD announced that the Barbie Flip phone has been introduced in collaboration with Mattel, the toy manufacturing company. Mattel is famous for its Barbie doll collection and has had a renowned range of toys and accessories since 1959.

The Barbie phone is scheduled to be launched this summer and will be a classic foldable phone promising “elegance and nostalgia.” In addition to the Barbie phone, HMD is also preparing to launch another phone under its own brand.

Despite scarce details, leaks last month revealed images of the upcoming HMD phone. Previous reports also indicate that HMD is already working on 9 different smartphones.

Furthermore, HMD unveiled its plan to reintroduce a distinctive phone this summer. It also hinted at the emergence of a range of new phone brands throughout 2024.

One of the highlights of the announcement is the HMD Fusion, a device resembling a smartphone targeting DIY enthusiasts. The device features connection points for building, programming, and attaching dedicated hardware accessories.

These accessories, as described by the company in the press release, can range from simple items like trendy clothing or extended battery packs to more complex devices such as payment terminals, barcode scanners, or portable medical equipment.

Below are some initial images of HMD Fusion accessories shared by the company. However, note that these are just preliminary models, not the actual device.
