The contacts page is one of the most underappreciated destinations on your phone. Considering that the device you carry with you all day is already a phone, it’s good to have a list of phone numbers you might need at any moment.

Perhaps we remember that when the iPhone was first unveiled in January 2007, many of the comments made in the media the next day focused on the “roulette wheel” scrolling for phone numbers in the contacts list.

Google Contacts is undergoing a refresh to make it look less cluttered and more modern. The new look appears with version 4.30.50.628193927, which has not yet reached the Play Store.

According to Android Authority, the leaker Assemble Debug uploaded the new Google Contacts page.

Google's New Contacts Design Helps Users Get Information Quickly

Instead of displaying a large number of fields (whether you have this information or not), the updated Google Contacts have only four fields available immediately: first name, last name, company, and phone number.

Below these fields are buttons allowing you to add an email address, important date, person’s address, and more.

In summary, instead of cluttering the Google Contacts page with fields that appear whether you have that information or need it, the new look page will only display the four mentioned fields and any additional fields you have selected.

This is supposed to speed up the process of finding the information you want, and it certainly makes Google Contacts look less cluttered.

Google has not yet officially rolled out the update to Android users, although we expect to see this new look for the Google Contacts page shortly.

Most smartphone users don’t think much about the contacts page, but it seems Google has taken a look at the available page for Android users and made a useful improvement.
