The latest episode of the popular podcast Made by Google spoke with the development team behind the Circle to Search (CtS) feature.

The team spent a lot of time thinking about the quickest way to access it. It was important for them to be able to access the feature anywhere across the operating system.

They naturally landed on long-pressing the gestures bar or the home page button to activate Circle to Search.

By navigating with three buttons, CtS replaces activating the assistant, requiring users to use the app shortcut, power button, or keyword.

It’s worth noting that some who use gesture navigation have complained about accidentally triggering Circle to Search. Luckily, Google is aware of this.

It’s also worth mentioning the explicit acknowledgment that “Circle to Search” already works with Lens.

The area selection has been finely tuned through extensive testing to be extremely accurate.
