Google.com is being used to advertise new devices and their features. Now, a new message has appeared saying “Try the new Google Pixel 8” on the homepage search, along with the phrase “Upgrade now.”

Instead of appearing below the search bar, this ad appears in the top right corner. The ad informs that the phone is designed using the most advanced Pixel chip and Google AI assistant to help you do more.

Highlighting features like Tensor G3 and AI isn’t very surprising, especially with the development of Gemini Nano this week, but the camera deserves a mention.

Clicking it redirects to store.google.com/category/phones instead of going directly to the Pixel 8 or 8 Pro list.

These types of messages feature the Google logo on the left and are usually tailored to encourage you to sign in or ensure the security of your account.

This seems to be a general message since a Pixel 8 phone associated with a Google account would already receive the upgrade message.
