If you’re struggling with a cluttered inbox, there might be a solution in sight. It seems that the Gmail app is testing a new “Subscriptions” filter, aiming to isolate those pesky newsletters and promotional emails.

Gmail’s existing smart filtering features already help users manage their mail, but the newly discovered “Subscriptions” filter, found by AssembleDebug via PiunikaWeb, promises to offer more precise control.

Located within the Android app’s sidebar under “Labels,” this “Subscription Management” filter intelligently analyzes your email patterns.

According to the code strings, this filter is said to categorize subscription senders based on email frequency: “Less than 10,” “10 to 20,” or “More than 20.” This allows for quick identification of unwanted senders.

It includes a clear unsubscribe button directly within the filter, simplifying the process of unsubscribing from unwanted subscriptions.

The feature appears to be in its early stages; however, some users on Reddit have reported seeing a pop-up ad.

Nevertheless, the filter itself isn’t fully functional yet, as clicking on its link redirects these users to a section of the app that never fully loads.
