Gemini App Coming to Google Assistant-Enabled Headphones

With the launch of Gemini last week, Google has focused on the smartphone form factor. The assistant has been left in place on smart displays, speakers, TVs, cars, and Wear OS devices, although the Gemini app for mobile phones is coming to headphones.

However, Google confirmed last week that it is focusing on smartphones running Android and iOS first.

Even if Gemini is enabled on your phone, Pixel Buds Pro still runs Google Assistant, as can be determined from the voice and capabilities available.

Gemini

The Gemini app for headphones is supposed to provide AI-powered generated responses for voice-only intermediaries.

Bringing the app to earphones, which have the feature of falling back to the connected phone if something goes wrong, maybe a safer start than smart screens/speakers.

It will be interesting to see how Google improves Gemini for headphones, especially regarding the length of responses. Long responses are easier to read on a screen compared to earphones.
