Garmin has released beta version 15.08 for Instinct 2, Instinct 2s, Instinct 2X, and Instinct Crossover smartwatches.

The latest update appears relatively small and follows beta version 15.06, which arrived two weeks ago with a wide range of bug fixes for wearable devices.

The changelog for beta update 15.08 is relatively short, indicating that the software addresses the battery drain issue.

Many users in the forum’s bug reports section have reported faster battery drain than expected after installing version 15.06.

Unfortunately, Garmin has not confirmed the cause of the issue or how to fix it. Additionally, it remains to be seen whether this update will significantly improve battery life.

The release notes also indicate that Instinct 2X and Instinct Crossover smartwatches feature new firmware for the Global Positioning System (GPS), version 8.07.

However, this has been available since the broader beta update 15.02 at the start of this testing cycle.

Garmin has confirmed that the rollout of beta version 15.08 is complete, meaning it was supposed to be pushed to all eligible wearable smartwatches like Instinct 2, Instinct 2s, Instinct 2X, and Instinct Crossover over the air. Instead, you can perform the update via Garmin Express.

The company recommends customers experiencing battery drain since the v15.06 software release use this second method as it should be faster.

If you wish to join the beta program, you can register through Garmin Connect.
