Recent leaks have revealed more details about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, featuring UFS 4.1 storage standards.

Recent reports confirm that the new UFS 5.0 storage standards won’t be available on the market until 2027, although the new standard is already under development.

According to leaks from “Sawyer Galox,” Samsung plans to support the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra with the new UFS 4.1 storage standards.

The report published by “Per Wccftech” indicates that the base model of the Galaxy S24, featuring 128GB of storage, came with UFS 3.1 storage standards, while the higher-end models of the Galaxy S24 series featured UFS 4.0 standards. With more AI features being pushed in the next generation of Galaxy S25 phones, new capabilities in storage and memory will be required.

Previous leaks have suggested that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with 16GB of RAM and storage options of 512GB and 1TB.

Current UFS 3.1 standards provide write speeds of up to 1200MB/s for phones with 256GB or 512GB of storage and 850MB/s for the 128GB storage model.

On the other hand, UFS 4.0 storage standards offer a significant performance boost, supporting write speeds up to 4200MB/s. UFS 4.1 standards are expected to bring incremental speed improvements, driving limited performance gains for AI technology, while UFS 5.0 standards are anticipated to deliver a significant performance upgrade.
