DJI has officially launched the Avata 2 FPV drone today, marking a rare occasion of being both better than the previous version and cheaper.

The new drone comes with improved image quality featuring an ultra-wide-angle 12-megapixel camera, utilizing a 1/1.3-inch sensor known for its expanded dynamic range and much-improved low-light processing, capable of effectively absorbing more light.

The angle reaches 155 degrees, enabling HDR video at up to 4K 60fps, along with slow-motion shots at 2.7K 120fps.

There are five additional degrees of gimbal tilt (from 85 degrees to 80 degrees). The maximum flight time has been improved to 23 minutes, with support for PD fast charging.

Moreover, the new Two-Way Charging Hub features power stacking functionality, allowing the transfer of remaining power from multiple batteries to the one with the highest charge level for quick power-ups in critical moments.

The Avata 2 can store up to 90 minutes of 1080p 60fps video on its 46GB internal storage and quickly share recordings via Wi-Fi to your smartphone.

The price of the DJI Avata 2 with DJI Goggles 3 and DJI RC Motion 3 with one battery is $999. Adding two extra batteries, a dual-directional charging hub, and one carrying case brings the price to $1199.

The DJI FPV remote controller is sold separately for $199, and the Avata 2 ND filter set is priced at $79. If you want just the drone without any extras, it will cost you $489.
