Exciting news for Call of Duty fans! According to a prominent gaming source on Twitter, @dom_lucrea, the campaign mission will be set during the horrific 9/11 attacks in 2001.

This aligns with the game’s cryptic tagline, “The Truth Lies.” Details remain scarce, but this represents a bold move by the publisher.

Activision has made a surprise announcement for the new Black Ops game, keeping the release date, platforms, and gameplay details under wraps.

However, we have a date to mark on our calendars: the Xbox Conference on June 10, where the game will be officially unveiled.

Previous rumors indicated that the game, developed by Treyarch Studios, would delve into the Gulf War of the 1990s (about a decade before the events of 9/11).

With the official reveal imminent, the story behind Black Ops 6 might diverge from those initial speculations.

The game will also be included with Xbox Game Pass from day one, which is notable as it marks the first time Activision Blizzard has done something like this.
