ASUS unveiled its 14-inch TUF Gaming A14 and 16-inch TUF Gaming A16 gaming laptops at Computex 2024. These laptops feature a combination of AMD Ryzen AI processors and NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphics cards.

Apart from the larger screen on the TUF A16, both laptops share many features.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 boasts a new chassis that is 17.9mm thick with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The chassis includes a 10% larger touchpad and full-size arrow keys, improving the current TUF Gaming A16.

Completing the exterior of the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, we see:

  • Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
  • USB 4 ports with DisplayPort 2.1
  • One USB 3.2 Type-C port with 100W power delivery support
  • RJ45 Ethernet jack
  • HDMI 2.1 output
  • 3.5mm combo audio jack

Internally, the new ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI processors based on the Zen 5 architecture. ASUS pairs these CPUs with up to RTX 4070 laptop GPUs and LPDDR5X-7500 memory.

The improved cooling solution, which includes second-generation Arc Flow fans and a full-width heatsink, manages the internal components’ temperatures. Finally, the device features a large 90Wh battery.

Moving to the display, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 sports a 16-inch 2.5K screen, 400 nits brightness, 3ms response time, and a 165Hz refresh rate. Additionally, ASUS claims the panel covers 100% of the sRGB gamut.

Like the larger ASUS TUF Gaming A16, the smaller ASUS TUF Gaming A14 also features the new Ryzen AI processors, NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics, and LPDDR5X-7500 memory.

However, the ASUS TUF Gaming A14 is limited to the RTX 4060 laptop GPU at the high end, a smaller 73Wh battery, and a total TDP of 100W (110W in Turbo mode) compared to 160W for the larger version.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A14 features a new design that is 16.9mm thick with the lid closed. The military-grade chassis includes a 14-inch display with thin bezels, an FHD webcam with Windows Hello support, a glass touchpad, and a 1.7mm key travel keyboard.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A14 on the display front matches its sibling in all aspects except size. Thus, it has a 14-inch diagonal screen with a 2.5K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, 400 nits brightness, and a 3ms response time.

The device includes:

  • MicroSD card reader
  • Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
  • One USB 4 Type-C port along with one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port
  • HDMI 2.1 and audio jack
