The latest reports from Korea confirm that Apple is developing the entire iPhone 16 series with a distinctive design featuring thin edges.

Leaked 3D renderings in recent times revealed the design of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, confirming that Apple is preparing to increase the screen size to 6.27 inches and 6.85 inches, compared to the current Pro models’ screen size of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.

In new details published in Korea, Apple is said to be developing a “BRS” design, which stands for a distinctive frame structure with thin edges. Apple will introduce this design in all the anticipated versions of the iPhone 16 series.

The leaks also clarified that the iPhone 16 Pro will have dimensions of 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25mm, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will measure 163 x 77.58 x 8.25mm. Therefore, the upcoming versions will have a design that is 3mm taller and 1mm wider compared to Apple’s previous iPhone 15 Pro models.

Reports also emphasize that the distinctive design with thin edges will not be limited to the Pro versions, as Apple will offer all its upcoming iPhone models with the “BRS” design.

Furthermore, the reports mention that Apple will offer the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus with the same distinctive screen dimensions as previous versions. Apple will continue to support a 60Hz refresh rate for the screens in these versions, while the upgrade to a 120Hz refresh rate will be introduced in the iPhone 17 models.

It’s worth noting that Apple has overcome the frame rate reduction issue in iPhone designs by diversifying screen supply chains among three suppliers: Samsung Display, LG Display, and also BOE.
