Android smartphone manufacturers excel in supporting premium phones with higher specifications in RAM and storage capacity. The latest reports have shed light on why Apple needs to support the upcoming iPhone 16 series with higher specifications in RAM and storage capacity.

Apple has started working on developing a new generation of iPhones and has previously stated that the iPhone 16 series will support new AI features.

With the shift in focus by smartphone manufacturers from developing new versions with a specific focus on camera specifications or processor speed to focusing on developing new versions of smartphones with Generative AI technology, which has become the primary marketing point recently.

Apple Needs to Increase RAM in the Upcoming iPhone 16 Series!

Apple is also preparing to keep up with this new change in smartphone competition standards, as the company is preparing to support the upcoming iPhone 16 series with new Generative AI technology. However, this change will require Apple to make a larger upgrade than usual in RAM.

Google and Samsung have been leading in pushing Generative AI features in their devices, and to push these features, Apple needs to surpass the RAM barrier, which has been limited to 8GB RAM in Pro versions and 6GB RAM in mainstream versions.

The technology giant also needs to increase the storage capacity, which started from 128GB in the mainstream versions. Details from @Tech_Reve have confirmed that Apple is already moving towards upgrading memory standards in the iPhone 16 series to support Generative AI technology.

It is also expected that Apple will increase the NAND flash capacity to increase storage to 256GB to support the requirements of Generative AI data, which require higher configurations in devices to support fast scrolling, better camera performance, and sensors.

Expectations indicate that the iPhone 16 series may come with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage capacity in all mainstream models.

On the other hand, some expectations suggest that if Apple leans towards cloud storage similar to Google and Samsung in the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 phones, Apple may not need to adopt large standards in RAM and storage capacity in the upcoming series.
