The latest news about the future of wearable devices at Apple may not come as a surprise to some, as smart rings in particular are increasingly seen as the next big thing in consumer health tracking, such as monitoring blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and heart rate.

Apple is said to still be considering launching its smart ring from the first generation to attract enthusiasts interested in these features.

Moreover, this type of first-party accessory could also integrate with Apple’s ecosystem in other ways, ranging from the latest way to unlock an iPhone to an additional form of control for Vision Pro.

In this regard, it’s assumed that this product could be called “iRing,” although there’s a possibility of something like the Apple Ring to the same extent.

Bloomberg’s reporter now also suggests that the company is considering entering the smart glasses game, again, as a more convenient and familiar alternative to both AirPods and iPad compared to Vision Pro combined, it’s surprising that the company hasn’t done so.

In fact, smart rings are still in very early stages of development at the moment, with concerns such as battery life hindering them.

However, these possibilities seem less far-fetched than some other concepts currently being floated at Apple, where some individuals within the company seem to prefer manufacturing AirPods with cameras instead.

It is now believed that Samsung’s Galaxy Ring device will make its first appearance in Barcelona during the MWC 2024 event.
