At the WWDC 2024, Apple announced the “Genmoji” feature, allowing users to create more emojis using AI technology.

While some might think the over 3,800 emojis available in Unicode 15.1 still need to be expanded, Apple introduced the ability to create new emojis with AI technology at the developers’ conference.

The “Genmoji” feature enables users to leverage AI technology to create emojis that match their specific requests.

This feature will be available later this year for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users through the “Apple Intelligence” platform.

Similar to AI image creation services like Midjourney and Dall-E, “Genmoji” will allow users to create emojis through text-based requests specifying the desired emoji design.

Users can share their custom-made emojis as stickers, use them in Tapbacks, or share them in messages. The feature is expected to be officially available in the fall of this year.
