A few months ago, we heard that the Vision Pro 2 headset wouldn’t be available until at least August 2025. However, new information claims that Apple has halted the Vision Pro 2 work and aims to release a cheaper model in late 2025.

The report suggests that the number of employees assigned to develop Vision Pro 2 has gradually decreased. Apple has informed one of its suppliers that work on the second-generation Vision Pro has been stopped.

It’s unclear how much the cheaper Vision headset will cost, but The Information says that Apple aims to price it around $1,500.

The lower-cost Vision is expected to lack some features of the Pro version. Rumors suggest that the cheaper Vision will borrow the advanced display from the Pro version but will come with a more straightforward headband, smaller speakers, and fewer cameras.

However, Apple is reportedly struggling to reduce the price of the cheaper Vision without cutting too many features.

The Information notes that Apple might resume work on Vision Pro 2 in the future, but the development has been suspended to focus on the more affordable model.
