Google has released the third beta version of Android 15, the upcoming mobile operating system. This AP31.240517.022 update is a significant milestone as Android 15 has now reached the “Platform Stability” phase.

Platform stability means that the core functionalities and how apps interact with the system are finalized. Developers can now conduct final compatibility testing for their apps before the official release later this year.

In addition to developer-focused changes, Beta 3 introduces some minor user-facing adjustments. The first is the integration of Credential Manager for autofill, which simplifies logging into apps and websites by utilizing saved passwords.

Users can also enjoy one-click sign-in using biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint or face recognition. Furthermore, the update deprecates WebSQL in Android WebView.

The third beta also addresses several bug fixes reported in previous versions. Issues such as Bluetooth LE scanning glitches, connection crashes in the Android Emulator, and system share sheet bugs have been resolved. Android 15 Beta 3 is available for several Pixel devices, starting with the Pixel 6a and ending with the latest Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.

Users enrolled in the Android Beta Program will receive the update automatically over the air (OTA).
