A new base from Amazfit called the Body Composition Analyzer has appeared on the company’s website in France and Italy.

The device is exclusively used with the Balance smartwatch for tracking the latest fitness trends launched last year. However, it is still unclear how customers can purchase the tool.

The base is designed to help you track eight health metrics: body fat, muscles, bone mass, body mass index, structural muscles, water, protein, and basal metabolic rate.

The device uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology, where pulses are sent through your body via the stainless steel electrodes you stand on.

While the Balance watch already captures these metrics, Amazfit indicates that the wearable device is limited to the upper part of the body, and the base can take measurements from the lower part of the body, which are then integrated to enhance result accuracy.

Results can be viewed through the Analyzer app, giving you a comprehensive view of your health. Amazfit states that this is not a medical device and cannot be used to diagnose any condition.

The Amazfit Body Composition Analyzer base is listed at €39.90. However, the company indicates that the product is only available as part of a package or through marketing activities; and provides no further details on either of these options.

It is also unclear whether the product designed for use with the Amazfit Balance smartwatch will be offered in other markets such as North America.
